Brethren Trade Breakfast for Breakouts in Oakham
The Brethren of Vale of Catmos Lodge recently met over the weekend for another well-attended monthly breakfast at The Grainstore Brewery, enjoying a relaxed, friendly setting for good conversation and even better company.
With a great turnout, the morning offered an excellent opportunity for Brethren to catch up outside of the Lodge room, with lively discussion and a shared sense of enjoyment across the table, especially as we reach the end of our Masonic season and lean more into the social elements during the summer break.
Following breakfast, several Brethren continued the day with a visit to One Way Out Escape Rooms in Oakham, taking on the Framed escape room challenge. The experience proved to be a great success, with participants enjoying 75 minutes of engaging puzzles, teamwork, and plenty of laughter throughout.
Feedback from those who attended highlighted just how enjoyable the experience was, with one Worshipful Brother describing it as “really fun” with “non-stop laughing throughout,” while another noted the team “got out in the nick of time” after a lively and entertaining challenge.
Thanks go to the Social Stewards for organising another excellent event, combining both tradition and a fresh social experience for the Brethren, with even a few memorable moments (and outfits) along the way. Yep, we’re looking at you in the wig, Steve!
For anyone who missed the Escape Room, have no fear; it will definitely be added to the 2026–27 social calendar!
